The 39-year-old, who doubles as a Curtin University art lecturer, won the City of Joondalup’s annual invitation art award on Saturday night at Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City for his Return Game, an examination of the rigours of playing suburban squash.

‘Many years ago, I used to work for Coca Cola and look after the entire supply of Coca Cola into Joondalup supermarkets,’ he told the Weekender.

‘I took a change in career and I thought what else do I want to do and I went and did art (at Curtin).
