Ashby commercial development approved

PLANS for seven commercial tenancies in Ashby have been approved.

Endeavour Properties sought approval for the $2.5 million development, including 103 parking bays on Hollosy Way, southwest of The Ashby Bar and Bistro.

The Metro North-West Joint Development Assessment Panel unanimously endorsed the application at its October 16 meeting, subject to conditions.

A report by the City of Wanneroo supported approval after finding it met relevant criteria for parking, wall signage and bushfire protection.

It said infrastructure contributions were necessary from the developer and listed a condition requiring payments to the City for providing arterial roads, public open space and facilities to the area.

The conditions also list allowed uses including a bank, convenience store, medical centre, theatre, office, restaurant, supermarket, vet, recreation centre and takeaway food outlet.

The medical centre and vet are restricted to two practitioners at any time and the theatre, club and recreation centre can accommodate a maximum of 30 people.
