Ashdale Primary School students fundraise for Bali orphanage

Tyler BrownWanneroo Times

On March 24, the school’s Year 6 students held a charity day to raise funds for the Jodie O’Shea Orphanage in Bali.

The idea originated from Ashleigh Standen.

Her grandmother had told her stories of her time in an orphanage and when Ashleigh visited Bali on a family holiday, she started thinking about what their lives would be like. Her wish was to help others in need.

The charity day included a free dress day for a gold coin donation, a cake stall and a jumble sale and activities such as bowling and Wet the Teacher. It raised $1927 for the orphanage, which will use it on clothing, essential items and education.
