Australian Hearing Bus brings free hearing checks to Girrawheen

Staff WriterWanneroo Times

THE Australian Hearing bus will be in Girrawheen on Monday offering free hearing checks.

The bus is stopping by Newpark Shopping Centre on May 13 to raise hearing health awareness in the community.

Australian Hearing Morley manager Julie Faulkner said that because age-related hearing loss develops gradually over time, it was common for people to overlook warning signs that their hearing is diminishing.

“One in six Australians is affected by hearing loss; with an ageing population this is expected to increase to one in four by 2050,” she said.

“A hearing check is a quick and easy way to measure the sounds you can and can’t hear.

“Our team will also be on hand to guide you through what next steps you may have to take in regard to your hearing.”

As well as having a hearing check, visitors to the bus can get information on a range of common hearing issues and view a display of hearing devices for around the home.

Appointments are not necessary and Australian Hearing will provide hearing checks to anyone over 18 who visits the bus at Newpark Shopping Centre, Templeton Crescent, Girrawheen on May 13 between 9am and 2.30pm.
