Axe threat: Teen on armed robbery charges

Police allege the 17-year-old Girrawheen youth was accompanied by another male when he entered a Mirrabooka Avenue service station carrying a tomahawk about 3.30am on October 19.

The pair allegedly threatened a staff member and fled the store with cash and mobile phone accessories.

Officers further allege that the accused returned to the same fuel stop about 3.25am on November 2.

He again threatened staff with an axe before stealing cash, cigarettes and a mobile phone.

Regional Investigation Unit officers last week charged the boy with aggravated armed robbery, armed robbery and possessing a smoking implement.
