THIS eight-year-old is chasing his dream of being the next Daniel Ricciardo or V8 Supercar champion.

Chace Webb, of Banksia Grove, is in his first year of kart racing and has huge aspirations of becoming a professional driver.

His father James said Chace first started driving go karts in 2018, practising for a year before driving competitively this year.

“He took up the sport as he has always been obsessed with Formula 1 and V8 Supercars since he was a baby,” Mr Webb said.

“His dream is to one day become a professional racer with either Formula 1 or the V8 Supercars.

“He lives and breathes motor racing and his knowledge of past and present racing is astounding.

“He started racing go karts this year at Tiger Kart Club and has started exceptionally well.

“He has been invited by Karting Australia to compete in South Australia at The Bend Motorsport Park in the Ultimate Club Racer championship this November.”

His family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the costs of tyres and spare parts, flights, accommodation and event entry.

Mr Webb said his son enjoyed the adrenalin before each race and making friends.

“He likes challenging himself to see how he can do better,” he said.

“The most challenging aspects are getting the kart setup right for the day, track and conditions.

“Other challenging aspects are passing and making split second decisions.

“Chace practises every weekend we can, other than race weekends.”
