Banksia Grove: City of Wanneroo drops dog park plan for Delamare Park

PLANS for a $200,000 dog park in Banksia Grove have hit a hurdle, with the City of Wanneroo binning the Delamare Park proposal.

Following public consultation, the City has advised survey respondents that it would not proceed with plans for that site but would look for another location.

A spokeswoman said the consultation process found residents agreed there was a need for a dog park in the area, but against having one at Delamere Park.

Issues raised related to site restrictions such as land size, proximity to residents and traffic congestion.

The City plans to consult with West Swan MLA Rita Saffioti and the Banksia Grove Residents Association to discuss other possible options.
