Banksia Grove fast food outlet and service station plan to go to JDAP after City of Wanneroo grants conditional approval

CONDITIONAL approval is recommended for a $3.5 million fast food outlet and fuel station on Ghost Gum Boulevard in Banksia Grove.

The Metro North-West Development Assessment Panel is due to consider a City of Wanneroo report on the proposal at its January 16 meeting.

The plans, submitted by MGA Town Planners for owner Fabcot Pty Ltd, include a BP fuel station and convenience store as well as a KFC outlet and 62 parking bays on the 46,000sq m lot at 81 Ghost Gum Boulevard.

The report, which recommends approval with 11 conditions, said five of the eight submissions received during public consultation last year had objected to the proposal.

“I do not understand the need for yet another petrol station in the area,” one submission said.

“The space can be used much more wisely and for better purpose.”

Another submission suggested a hardware store or sports centre would be better uses.
