Banksia Grove man charged over alleged attempted stabbing in Balga

A BANKSIA Grove man allegedly struck another on the head with a kitchen knife before trying to stab him in the chest outside a home in Balga earlier this month.

Police have charged a 42-year-old man with multiple offences.

Officers allege the man was at the home of his ex-partner about 2am on August 7 when the other man arrived in a car.

The alleged offender is accused of accosting the latter outside the home before attacking him with the knife.

Acting Senior Sergeant Tom Cogan said the alleged offender was further accused of stealing the other man’s car.

He said the knife wounds required surgery.

Police charged the alleged attacker with grievous bodily harm, unlawful wounding, vehicle theft and driving without a licence.
