Banksia Grove man charged over alleged attempted stabbing in Balga

A BANKSIA Grove man allegedly struck a victim to the head with a kitchen knife before attempting to stab him in the chest outside a home in Balga earlier this month.

Police have charged a 42-year-old man with multiple offences.

Officers allege the man was at the home of his ex-partner about 2am on August 7 when the victim arrived in a car.

The alleged offender is accused of accosting the victim outside the home before attacking him with the knife.

Acting Senior Sergeant Tom Cogan said the man was further accused of stealing the victim’s car.

He said the victim’s knife wounds required surgery.

Police charged the man with grievous bodily harm, unlawful wounding, vehicle theft and driving without a licence.
