Banksia Grove: man charged over leading police on pursuit

A MAN is due to face Joondalup Magistrates’ Court next month after he allegedly breached bail and attempted to evade police in a Banksia Grove vehicle pursuit.

Officers tried to stop the 28-year-old man in the BMW he was allegedly driving about 2am on March 9.

The man allegedly failed to stop for police who later deployed tyre spikes in an attempt to halt the vehicle. The driver is accused of mounting a kerb to avoid the stingers before getting out of the car and fleeing on foot on Brunswick Circuit.

Officers used a police dog to track the alleged offender, who was charged with reckless driving, failing to stop and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police will further allege he was on bail for other offences.

He was remanded in custody to |appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on May 10.
