On July 18, Clarkson Detectives led a search, involving 25 police officers, at Lorian Road property as part of their investigations into firearms and drugs, Operation Porthos.
Senior Sergeant Gary Saunders said they recovered seven firearms during the search, including a handgun.
‘We recovered an automatic assault rifle (SKS) that is a totally prohibited firearm in this State,’ he said.
They also found an Enfield .303 rifle, two Lithgow .303 rifles and two .22 calibre rifles.

READ NOW‘As a result of that, the next day (July 19) we arrested and charged a 41-year-old man from that address with possession of firearms in circumstances of aggravation, and possessing three or more unlicensed firearms,’ Sgt Saunders said.
‘We charged him with possessing a totally prohibited firearm, possessing unlicensed ammunition, and possession of dangerous goods, which were explosives or fireworks that were located at the house.’
Sgt Saunders said the man was released on bail and was due to reappear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on August 28, having appeared there on July 24.
