Bar talk: plans for Newpark Tavern Bar and Bistro expansion out for comment

Lucy JarvisWanneroo Times

PLANS to create a beer garden at the Newpark Tavern Bar and Bistro are currently out for public comment.

The City of Wanneroo has invited submissions until March 21 for the Girrawheen tavern’s proposal to add an alfresco dining area and beer garden.

The plans indicate the alfresco area would cover about 70sq m on the southern side of the existing building, while the beer garden would be about 46sq on the northern side.

The plans by Habitat Interiors, Design Construction also include upgrades to the external facade and two wall signs on the building at 61 Templeton Crescent.

Submissions will be included in a report presented to the council at a later date.

The tavern’s liquor licence, which was renewed last June, allows the lounge bar and sports bar to have up to 100 patrons each at a time.
