City rangers were kept busy accepting registrations ahead of the November 1 annual renewal deadline and 45 exhibitors offered products and services for pets, including photography sessions and beach wear.

Competition rivalry was fierce, particularly in Date My Dog where the bachelor, German shepherd Deezal, rejected the judges’ pick and selected labrador cross Holly, who was placed third.

All 40 spots were filled for the day’s most popular competition, Next Top Dog Model, where judges were looking for the best-dressed pooch. Entrants included a pug dressed as a sunflower and the winner was a bull terrier dressed like a biker.
