Representatives from the Jubilee Lodge 131 Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes recently presented a cheque for $2517 to the foundation from money raised last year.

The barbecues are held on the first Saturday of the month at the Woodvale Boulevard shopping centre.

Member Harvey Smithers (84) said the group wanted to make people aware of their presence.

"It is one of the Buffalo principles to help those in need," Mr Smithers said.

"We wish to thank the management and staff of Woolworths for their untiring help and assistance in our barbecues and also the shoppers of Woodvale for your generosity, not only in buying a hotdog, but also your kind donations."

In 2013, the group raised $3000 for local bushfire brigades.

Mr Smithers also encouraged non-attending members of the Buffaloes to consider returning to the lodge.

They meet at 10am at the Woodvale Community Centre on the second Sunday of the month.
