Construction will start soon on the $15.6 million project, which will include two double-storey classroom blocks (16 classrooms), an inclusive education classroom, a science laboratory, art studio and performing arts area.
Principal Carol Strauss said the college had developed transition programs over the past three years.
‘We offer students in years 5, 6 and 7 from our local primary schools the opportunity to visit the college and participate in a number of transition programs for various secondary school subjects.
‘This allows students to experience the type of work they will complete at secondary school, in subjects such as science and the arts.’
Local primary schools will receive brochures with updates on the transition.
