The Edith Cowan University Security Research Institute is holding the interactive seminar, which is specifically aimed at small businesses who want to learn how to safeguard their smart phones, iPads and other devices.

Professor Valli will speak about topics including the motivation of attacks on small business and give valuable tips on how to prevent becoming a victim of cyber attacks and risk losing valuable income as a result.

He will also give examples of criminal activity relating to cyber attacks on businesses.

A recent survey in Wanneroo and Joondalup revealed small businesses wanted to know how to secure their mobile devices, the value of firewalls and how to keep systems updated to prevent intrusion from unwanted visitors.
