“Both vehicles were travelling west on Wesco Road near Gibbs Road.

“A 43-year-old male rider of the Ducati suffered life threatening injuries in the crash and was taken by ambulance to Joondalup hospital where he later died.”

Major Crash investigators are seeking witnesses who may have seen the station sedan or the Ducati travelling on Wesco Road prior to the crash to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online.

It follows another fatal motorcycle crash in Ocean Reef last Thursday, where police say speed was a major factor when the 27-year-old male rider overtook several other vehicles before losing control at the Ocean Reef Road and Swanson Way roundabout.

Several St John Ambulance and Department of Fire and Emergency Services crews attended another crash on Marmion Avenue in Jindalee about 3.25pm, where one person was trapped inside a vehicle.

Reader Kylie Oliver arrived at the scene shortly after the crash.

“They were getting the jaws of life to cut out the driver from the four wheel drive,” she said.

“The female driver needed to be placed onto a back brace board and exited from the rear of the four-wheel-drive.”

Police are hoping to speak to another driver involved in the crash who left the scene.

Earlier in the afternoon, there were two more crashes on Marmion Avenue in Hillarys, one involving two cars at the intersection with Whitfords Avenue about 2.30pm.

There were no injuries for those involved in another at the intersection with Hepburn Avenue about 2.45pm.

SJA attended another crash on Mitchell Freeway near Hodges Drive where a car travelling north crashed into a barrier about 2.40pm.
