Butler: police charge man with aggravated stalking of 12-year-old girl

POLICE have charged a 37-year-old man with stalking a 12-year-old girl in Butler.

Sometime between 3pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday February 28 the girl was walking along Lukin Drive when she noticed a white Holden Commodore driving alongside her.

Police allege the male driver was filming her on his mobile phone.

The girl asked a member of the public for help and the car was later seen in the carpark of the shopping centre at the corner of Connolly and Lukin Drives.

A man was arrested after an investigation by Joondalup detectives.

A search of his vehicle was conducted and police found two mobile phones.

Images on the mobile phones lead to a search warrant being executed at the man’s home in Yangebup where a number of electronic storage devices were seized by police.

Police are still examining those devices.

The man has been charged with aggravated stalking.

He is due to appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court today.
