Chief executive Garry Hunt will prepare a report for the council after it voted last week to support a motion from Deputy Mayor Liam Gobbert.
Cr Gobbert called for the report, saying the cameras would complement Joondalup’s City Watch security service and its CCTV network.
The report would consider implications of the camera use such as ‘graffiti removal and potentially for redesigning roads’.
