Cancer leaders gather at summit

Breast Cancer Network Australia brought together women who are support leaders in their communities to hear guest speakers and network.

Ms Hall, who is a community liaison, said delegates heard about new treatments, care and peer support, while sharing experiences.

‘The national summit offered information and inspiration as well as some practical ideas and resources to take back,’ she said.

‘Local breast cancer groups are a great source of support for women dealing with breast cancer and are powered by local survivors who volunteer their own time.

‘Networking at the summit was a very valuable, informative and inspirational experience for all in attendance.’

Ms Hall and fellow delegate Janet Lynn belong to Amazons Perth Dragon Boat Club, which raises awareness of breast cancer and provides a support group.

The Breast Cancer Network links more than 80,000 individuals and 300 community groups, providing support and information.
