The Dogs’ Refuge Home urgently needs foster owners for dogs in care while they await adoption.
Chief executive Judy Flanagan said they were particularly desperate to find an experienced foster carer for four-year-old staffy cross Patches and her nine puppies.
“We are calling for people who have some experience with dogs and would like to become a temporary foster carer to come forward,” she said.

Ms Flanagan said dogs that need fostering could be older or require ongoing veterinary treatment that would be better administered in a home environment.
“We are also looking to foster out a number of dogs that are stressed in the kennel environment and need the special TLC that a foster carer would be able to provide,” she said.
Potential foster carers must register with the refuge and have some experience with dogs.
The refuge will cover all vet expenses.
