Cannabis plants found in home

‘We found out that a front room of the house had been converted into a cannabis hydroponic room fitted with artificial lights and ventilation,’ Senior Sergeant Gary Saunders said.

‘Detectives also established that the electricity meter had been bypassed so the excessive power consumption used for the cultivation was not being registered or tracked.

‘There was a significant number of cannabis plants we located being grown in the room and a significant quantity of cannabis was located hidden in a freezer.’

Detectives charged a Heathridge man (41) with cultivating and possessing cannabis, and obtaining power in a manner that circumvents due recording of that supply.

He is due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on July 8.
