Car crashes into power pole, causes outage

A CAR crashed into a power pole on Wanneroo Road in Madeley this morning, causing a power outage across several suburbs.

The single-vehicle crash was reported about 6.50am on March 7 and the power line is down on Wanneroo Road near the Windsor Road junction.

St John Ambulance, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and Western Power were called to attend.

According to the Western Power outages map, the utility expects to restore power about 10am. UPDATE: Restoration time is now expected about 1pm.

Main Roads reported the southbound left lane was closed, advising there was heavy traffic in the area and motorists should seek alternate routes.
