Car dent: Driver wants city to pay

Staff ReporterWanneroo Times

David Lane attended a concert at Santiago Park on December 6 and while driving through the parking area, damaged his car on two bollards which were covered with plastic cones. He said four other vehicles were damaged in the same way.

The damage bill for his car was going to be almost $2400.

He has tried to make a claim for the cost with the City of Joondalup, which hosted the free concert, but their insurer has rejected it.

The city is not liable, Joondalup chief executive Garry Hunt said, because it has been determined that there was enough distance between the two bollards and that they were easily seen. Mr Lane said other drivers who had the same issue could email him on dpies@hotmail.com.
