Card thief spends $2000 before lunch

Staff ReporterWanneroo Times

First Class Constable Alan Burress said a man used a credit card stolen in Duncraig in early August to fund a ‘shopping spree’ that started with breakfast at a Warwick fast food outlet.

‘The cards were in a wallet stolen from a vehicle in Duncraig, sometime between 11pm on Saturday, August 3 and 6.45am on August 4,’ Constable Burress said.

‘The first fraudulent transaction was made by a male at 6.48am on that same Sunday in Warwick, he then continued shopping in Carine, Hillarys, Innaloo, Balcatta and Whitford City Shopping Centre. In total, the male racked up a whopping $2000 of debt, before lunch.’
