Rememberance Day event held at Wanneroo War Memorial

The Perth North sub-section Naval Association service began at 10.30am, with a welcome address from association president Ian Holthouse.

Wanneroo MLA Paul Miles delivered the Remembrance Day address with a tribute to each of the men whose names were on the Wanneroo War Memorial and who had lost their lives either in battle or from injuries sustained during WWI.

Margaret Cockman, fellow freeman of the City Bill Marwick and his wife Bernice laid a wreath at the memorial.

Wanneroo Deputy Mayor Dot Newton and students from East Wanneroo Primary School also laid wreaths.

After the Last Post Lieutenant Fiona Sullivan read the naval ode, followed by the playing of the national anthem.

Attendees shared a sausage sizzle and drinks with association members after the service.
