Charges after man stabbed in Perth

A PERTH man has been charged after he allegedly stabbed a male relative during a fight, leaving him fighting for life in hospital.

The men, both in their 30s, were fighting at a house in Canopy Court at Banksia Grove on Friday night when police were called about 9.30pm.

A 32-year-old man had emergency surgery for a life-threatening stab wound and a 35-year-old man was charged on Saturday with aggravated grievous bodily harm.

A spokesman for WA Police confirmed that Joondalup Detectives have charged a man in relation to an incident in Banksia Grove.

“Police were called to a residence in Canopy Court in relation to a disturbance,” he said.

“Upon arrival two men were located, and both had injuries. The two men are related to each other.

“It will be alleged the two men were involved in verbal altercation with each other, which became physical,” he said.

“The investigation is ongoing.”
