Childcare centre plans out for public comment

Lucy JarvisWanneroo Times

A CHILDCARE centre operator is looking to open a $2.1 million centre in the Wanneroo town centre.

Wanneroo Central Shopping Centre owner Charter Hall has lodged a development application to build a Sonas Early Learning and Care centre on land currently used for staff parking, overlooking Wanneroo Road.

The City of Wanneroo has invited public comment until November 28 on the plans for a single-storey centre that could accommodate up to 86 children and 14 staff.

Its proposed operating hours would be 7am to 7pm on weekdays and there would be 14 parking spaces on site, accessible from Conlan Avenue.

The application will be assessed by the Metro North-West Development Assessment Panel at a future meeting. Sonas already has six centres around Perth, including in Karrinyup.
