Each child donated a toy no longer played with to Santa’s Workshop, a voluntary group based in Cannington, which refurbishes toys for needy families.
The toy giving was part of the children’s Christmas concert, organised by family centre co-ordinator Alison Kindred and teachers Claire Laverick and Jane Copeland.
Meerilinga Young Children’s Foundation recently received a $280,000 Lotterywest grant for building renovations at the centre.
Kingsley MLA Andrea Mitchell presented the cheque to centre staff.
