City acknowledges value of volunteers

Laura PondWanneroo Times

A dinner was held last Friday to show appreciation for the many people who help with the City’s conservation and community services programs.

Social support program and shoppers’ bus volunteer Renee Solomon, community transport driver Roy Bastick, Friends of Yellagonga member Heather Chester and Caroline Farley, from the Wanneroo Volunteer Centre, were presented with a Volunteer Excellence Award.

Mayor Tracey Roberts thanked the volunteers for their commitment to the community.

“As a City, we are extremely fortunate to have active volunteers who look after those in our community who need support and who genuinely care for the lifestyles of others,” she said.
