A dinner was held last Friday to show appreciation for the many people who help with the City’s conservation and community services programs.

Social support program and shoppers’ bus volunteer Renee Solomon, community transport driver Roy Bastick, Friends of Yellagonga member Heather Chester and Caroline Farley, from the Wanneroo Volunteer Centre, were presented with a Volunteer Excellence Award.

Mayor Tracey Roberts thanked the volunteers for their commitment to the community.

“As a City, we are extremely fortunate to have active volunteers who look after those in our community who need support and who genuinely care for the lifestyles of others,” she said.

“From helping the elderly with shopping to teaching children about our nature reserves, our volunteers work tirelessly to help make the City of Wanneroo a better place.

“On behalf of all City residents, I would like to thank our volunteers for making a vital contribution to our community.”
