City disregards protest, will start AGM at 5.30pm

It will take place before the scheduled council meeting at the Joondalup Civic Centre on Boas Avenue.

At a council briefing last month, Cr Brian Corr asked about the reported dissatisfaction with the starting time.

Chief executive Garry Hunt said only one person had made a comment.

‘That individual has made comments in relation to any general meetings and activities of the City in a derogatory manner on many occasions so I think, irrespective of timing, it would not make a great deal of difference,’ he said.

‘From memory, when we first held it at this time, it was the largest attendance of an AGM that we’ve had in recent times,’ Mayor Troy Pickard said.
