City of Wanneroo bands with local schools and community groups to help struggling families with Mayor’s Christmas Appeal

SCHOOLS, community groups and residents in the City of Wanneroo have banded together to ensure struggling families can have an enjoyable Christmas.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said generous donations to the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal had helped to create 27 hampers for people in need.

“We have had an overwhelming response from residents which is truly humbling,” she said.

“Some 46 schools, businesses, community and seniors groups received red collection bins which were distributed around the City to accept donations of non-perishable food, toys and gifts.”

She said families would receive a hamper containing non-perishable food items such as Christmas puddings and mince pies, as well as wrapped age-appropriate gifts.
