CLARKSON artist Janey Emery has been named the crowd favourite at the City of Wanneroo’s Community Art Awards and Exhibition for the second consecutive year.

She received the People’s Choice Award and $600 for her acrylic and oil artwork, Harewood Forest.

The award was based on public votes from people who attended the exhibition during May and June.

Emery’s works are crowd pleasers, having picked up the same award in 2013, 2014 and 2016, and said it meant a lot that so many people enjoyed it.

“It’s really lovely to get that award,” she said.

Emery’s piece is based on a photo her friend took in WA’s South-West several years ago.

She said she enjoyed being part of the Wanneroo exhibition but was unsure if she would enter again next year.

“Every year I say I’m not going to but every year I do.”
