City of Wanneroo honours pioneers at annual luncheon

Staff WriterWanneroo Times

MORE than 50 Wanneroo Pioneers attended the annual luncheon to celebrate their contribution to the City of Wanneroo on Wednesday.

Between 1975 and 2016, the City recognised about 250 people who had lived in and contributed to the establishment of the area for 50 or more years.

It stopped recognising new people after 2016 but continues to hold a luncheon every year to honour existing pioneers, with 56 attending the July 25 event.
