THE City of Wanneroo has started a library review ahead of the launch of a Sunday trading trial at Wanneroo Library this weekend.

Sunday, October 7, will mark the start of a six-month trial to have the Rocca Way library open seven days a week.

Free services at the facility include the e-library and connected computer facilities, as well as programs and events geared towards early learners through to seniors.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said as of October 7 the library would be open on Sundays from 11am to 3pm.

“Our libraries already see more than 8000 people every week, but Sunday openings will offer increased convenience for current library-goers and also encourage new visitors to call-in,” she said.

The City will review the opening hours of other libraries pending the success of the Sunday trading trial.

It is running a survey on library opening hours until December 15 to guide future trading days and times at all the City’s libraries.

Staff are expected to report to the council on the survey results in February 2019 and announce any changes that result next April.
