City of Wanneroo plans upgrades for Carramar and Marangaroo golf courses

Lucy JarvisWanneroo Times

THE City of Wanneroo is considering adding accommodation, restaurants, social facilities and function venues at its two golf courses.

The City is running an online survey as part of its community golf course review to gauge what upgrades residents would like to see at the Carramar and Marangaroo courses.

It has also invited expressions of interest from companies with a track record in creating destination venues to do the upgrades.

While the upgrades are proposed to attract a wider range of users, the City does not plan to change the actual courses, including the natural environment, tees, greens and fairways.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said the City invited the community to have their say and help shape future concepts and designs for the golf courses.

“I encourage everyone with an interest in these projects to visit the City’s website and tell us what they’d like to see in future at our golf courses,” she said.

The survey and expressions of interest will close on October 29.
