A SOLD out crowd gathered at Wanneroo Showgrounds on Saturday for the City of Wanneroo Presents concert.

More than 8000 people settled in for a night of free Australian music headlined by Melbourne band British India.

Support acts Little May, Holy Holy, Tired Lion and The Hunting Birds rounded out the entertainment, while families enjoyed picnics or tasted offerings from a range of food trucks.

Children were kept busy by fun activities including bubble soccer, face painting and a circus skills workshop.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said it was a popular free family event.

“The City’s annual concert is always a huge success and this year was no exception,” she said.

“It was great to see everyone enjoying a fabulous night of rock performed by five of Australia’s favourite bands.

“The atmosphere at the showgrounds was amazing; everyone was so happy enjoying quality music while watching the beautiful sun set on what was a lovely balmy night.”
