City of Wanneroo wants feedback on rezoning of Ashby lot

Laura PondWanneroo Times

CITY of Wanneroo is seeking feedback on a zoning change to an Ashby lot.

Landowner Endeavour Properties is applying for a structure plan amendment for a site at the corner of Blackberry Drive and Pinjar Road, which would rezone the land from residential to mixed use.

The report said this was sought to allow the development of a medical centre and a range of complementary non-retail land uses, as well as to provide a transition from the neighbourhood centre to the developing residential area.

A concept plan used to show potential of the site depicted a medical centre, pharmacy and parking.

“The mixed use zoning classification over the subject site is proposed to ensure appropriate sized business and other employment generating activities will be situated locally,” it said.

“This zoning classification will also provide the flexibility to develop both residential and low intensity commercial land uses on the subject site.”

The proposal is open for comment until July 18 via www.wanneroo.wa.gov.au/consultations.
