THE annual Dog’s Breakfast proved popular, with thousands of locals turning out at Kingsway Sporting Complex for the City of Wanneroo event.

“It was wonderful to see so many families and their fur babies having a great time,” Mayor Tracey Roberts said.

“The competitions were a definite highlight and residents loved the socialising opportunities and showcasing their much-loved friends.”

Wanneroo resident Lisa Smith enjoyed taking her two pets, Missy and Muss to the Madeley event.

“Dog’s Breakfast was such a good morning,” she said.

“Our dogs received free micro-chipping and a health check, and then they strutted their stuff on stage in Australia’s Next Top Dog Model.

“They didn’t win but it was still good for a laugh and great fun to check out all of the other awesome dogs.”

Free children’s activities included a bouncy castle, pooch-friendly photo booth and face painting.

The event featured more than 40 exhibits showcasing goods and services ranging from dog washing and grooming to house sitting and doggy day care.
