City of Wanneroo’s community planting program to make suburbs green

PEOPLE are encouraged to help green their suburb as part of the City of Wanneroo’s annual community planting program.

Volunteers can help plant more than 3300 groundcovers, perennial herbs, shrubs and trees during events held in Ridgewood, Koondoola and Mindarie.

They will also learn about their local parks and unique conservation areas within them.

The first session is at Ridgewood Park on June 18 from 9am to 11am, followed by one at Koondoola bushland on July 9 from 9am to 11am.

The third event is at Mindarie foreshore on July 23 from 9am to noon.
