City sets a new date for eisteddfod

Staff ReporterWanneroo Times

The City of Joondalup recently held a focus group to discuss ways to improve the Eisteddfod and address a decline in participation.

The event is usually held in term three, which coincides with trial exams, end-of-season sporting activities and nine other state musical competitions in August.

Because the Eisteddfod is run in a financial year and the 2014-15 event was held in July and August last year, the 2015-16 Eisteddfod will be held from May 28 to June 19 next year. Registrations will open on February 2, 2016.
