City of Wanneroo Capital Works Budget highlights multi-million dollar projects

ONGOING expansion of the Wanneroo Civic Centre, sports facilities and coastal protection works are among the City of Wanneroo’s multi-million dollar capital works projects for 2017-18.

The 2017-18 Capital Works Budget included almost $10.34 million to continue the civic centre expansion, with $335,505 carried forward (cf) from this financial year.

There was also $2.65 million to continue the Yanchep SLSC building and $2.95 million for coastal protection works in Quinns Rocks.

The recreation and sport program includes more than $4.21 million for Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex upgrades, $3.26 million for the Yanchep playing fields and clubrooms, plus $2.45 million for the Butler district open space.

The biggest transport project is a $2.33 million upgrade to Mirrabooka Avenue in Darch and Landsdale, with $1.54 million of that from a State grant.
