Close-knit group keen to help needy

Klickety Klacks member Eileen Paget said the $2000 grant would help the not-for-profit group buy wool to knit and crochet 2014 items of clothing and blankets for the needy by winter 2014.

‘We have a close association with the Joondalup Knit n Natter craft group and it is through them that blankets, scarves, beanies, baby blankets, baby clothes and toys ” made by us at our own expense ” are donated to several charities throughout Perth,’ she said.

She said the group not only worked to benefit others, but to benefit the 33 members themselves, providing a place for people in the community to gather socially while sharing their love of knitting and crochet.

‘The group is self-supporting and comprises ladies of all ages, from all walks of life,’ Ms Paget said.

The group meets each Tuesday at 10am and Thursday at 6pm at the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre.
