Commuters warned of new parking restriction

Mayor Troy Pickard said the change addressed the increasing use of the Joondalup lakeside car park by train commuters and other long-term users. He said it would ensure the area was free for visitors to the park in Yellagonga Regional Park.

‘As our city centre grows rapidly with an increase in local businesses and residential dwellings in the area, so too does pressure build on our parking network,’ he said.

‘The City regularly reviews and monitors its parking strategy to ensure bays and stations are utilised in an efficient manner.’

The four-hour limit will not apply on public holidays in the state of WA.
