Conquer Cystic Fibrosis shortlisted for top award

Staff ReporterWanneroo Times

Their nomination comes after many successful fundraising initiatives, including a recent event organised by two Woodvale families that raised $32,259.70 for the cause.

The Zaccaria and Gavranich families hosted their third bi-annual family and friends cocktail party on March 15, taking their fundraising total up to $86,791.65.

After attending a Conquer Cystic Fibrosis grand ball and being outbid on a cocktail party during an auction, the families decided to get together to arrange their own event to support CCF.

Their party was attended by 94 guests and included raffles, live and silent auctions and entertainment.

Conquer Cystic Fibrosis chairwoman Wendy Endebrock-Brown said the organisation could not have achieved its fundraising goals without the generosity of the families.

‘CCF is a very low-cost organisation; no-one at CCF gets paid and all volunteers donate their time to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis,’ Ms Endebrock-Brown said.

‘Why not host your own cocktail party, a fancy-dress dinner, office morning tea, crazy hair days at school, running a marathon, swimming to Rottnest? The possibilities are endless.’
