Claire OttavianoWanneroo Times

The projects from Girrawheen, Carramar, Mindarie, Clarkson, Tapping and Pinjar total about $5.3 million.

Projects successful for Federal grants are fully funded by the program.

State projects are two-thirds funded by the program and one-third by the council.

Areas considered for funding include:

Girrawheen: install skid resistant treatment and outreach streetlights at the Mirrabooka, Montrose and Koondoola avenues intersection;

Carramar: traffic lights at Cheriton Drive;

Mindarie: lane on Marmion Avenue for traffic turning right off Rochester Drive;

Clarkson: upgrade lighting at Ocean Keys Boulevard roundabouts at Key Largo Drive and Pensacola Terrace;

Tapping: extend intersection approach on Clarkson Avenue towards Waldburg Drive, adjust pram ramps and reinstate fading lines on Clarkson Avenue, Waldburg Drive and Yandella Promenade;

Pinjar: realign bends, construct batters and seal road shoulders from Wattle Avenue to Pederick Road on Old Yanchep Road.

If the council is successful with all applications when announced in May, the City will contribute nearly $1.8 million to the total cost.
