Kalin, who has endured a two-year battle with the rare rhabdomysosarcoma, was guest of honour at the Heathridge Park match between his former junior club Wanneroo and Ocean Ridge, where many of his high school mates play.

The teenager’s mum, Brigitte, was appreciative of the effort that had gone into the event, which has run since 2012. ‘Kalin had a good time and got to spend some time with his friends, so it was great,’ she said.

Money was also raised to fund a holiday for Kalin and his family.

Mrs Foley said they continued to take his fight with the aggressive cancer one day at a time.

WAFL club West Perth wore one white sock against Claremont on Saturday in conjunction with the Sock it to Sarcoma fundraiser.

Falcons district manager Andrew Ridley said the club was hopeful the final total would reach about $3000.
