Their forebears were 19th century arrivals in Australia after the discovery of gold while Les’ great uncle Jack Scaddan was WA Premier from 1911 to 1916.

Moya and Les married on June 27, 1953, raising a son and daughter. They have a granddaughter and two great granddaughters.

They lived in Wembley Downs for 32 years before moving to Sorrento in 1995.

After 42 years in the WA Fire Brigade, Les retired as a district officer. He is a long-time member of Mt Lawley Golf Club and the South of Perth Yacht Club.

‘About 20 years ago, I discovered paper art and craft and it has been my passion ever since,’ said Moya, who is well-known for her craftwork.
