The Kingsley couple, who celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary on Boxing Day, recently marked the milestone with members of the Warwick Senior Citizens Club at their twice-weekly social dance.
Fred became involved with the club a few years after moving to Perth from the UK 20 years ago and has been president for most of that time.
The 82-year-old said that he and Joan (80) had made many good friends at the club, with its social dance being a great way to meet people, have fun and enjoy some light exercise.
Fred believes that he and his wife ‘haven’t changed at all’ since marrying at St Simon’s Church in Bristol 60 years ago, while Joan said that their sense of humour and ability to laugh together is part of what makes their marriage successful.
‘It’s about give and take, we share everything and are always together,’ she said.
